About Dr. Gyimah

A pastor's heart. A teacher's clarity.

Eighteen years of ministry, teaching, and community work — distilled into one conviction: wisdom should be lived before it's spoken.

Portrait of Dr. Kwesi Gyimah

"I didn't set out to be a pastor who writes, or a writer who preaches. I set out to tell the truth in whatever room I found myself in — and the rooms kept multiplying."

Dr. Kwesi Gyimah was born in Ghana and moved to Nigeria at the age of two — an early life shaped by movement, and by a home where faith wasn't performance, it was practice. That foundation carried him to Caribbean Union College (now the University of the Southern Caribbean, Trinidad), where he first put his convictions to work through campus leadership, and later to a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry degree that sharpened both his theology and his instinct for plain speech.

Today, his work spans the pulpit, the page, and the platform. As a pastor, he leads with a rare mix of theological depth and everyday honesty. As an author, he writes for people who are tired of easy answers. As a speaker, he brings that same directness to boardrooms, campuses, and sanctuaries alike. His years of community service have been recognized with honors from the Columbus City Council and the Ohio Senate, and he currently serves as senior pastor of the Toronto Ghanaian Seventh-day Adventist Church and the Hamilton Ghanaian Seventh-day Adventist Group in Ontario, Canada.

He and his wife, Jemima, are raising two children together — and at home, he's just as likely to be found celebrating an ordinary Tuesday as preparing a message for the weekend.

What Guides the Work

Three convictions behind everything he does.

01

Honesty Over Performance

Faith that can't survive a hard question isn't faith worth keeping. He teaches for the doubter as much as the devoted.

02

Presence Over Platform

A message means little if the messenger disappears when the microphone turns off. He measures impact by who shows up, not who watches.

03

Community as Practice

Belonging isn't a topic to preach about — it's something to build, block by block, one relationship at a time.
