More Than a New Address

Discovering Your Mission in the Diaspora

You crossed a border carrying faith, memories, hopes — and more of home than any suitcase could hold. But beyond finding work, settling your family and building a new life lies another question: Now that I am here, how can God use me here?

Through personal stories, voices from immigrant families and Philip’s encounter with the Ethiopian official in Acts 8, Dr. Gyimah invites readers to notice the people already within their reach — neighbors, coworkers, newcomers and children growing up between worlds. Each chapter offers practical questions, prayers and simple steps toward a life available to Christ.

“Whatever brought you here, God can use you here.”

Trusting the Promisor to Keep His Promise

Promises are easy to make and hard to keep — we know that from our own lives. This book asks a different question: what does it look like to trust the One who has never broken His word? Across ten chapters — on stillness, purpose, provision, doubt, and the promise of Christ's return — Dr. Gyimah pairs honest teaching and Scripture with reflection questions, prayer, and a next step for each one.

From the Introduction

When our daughter Kezia was five years old, she was reading to our son Michael, who was three years old at the time. She came across the word promise and asked her brother if he knew what a promise was. He shook his head, and in an attempt to make him understand, she said, “A promise is like when Daddy promised to take us to Costco but did not take us. He did not keep his promise.” My action — or inaction — became an object lesson for a three-year-old to understand the meaning of a promise.

We are constantly bombarded with promises — from products to medications that promise to do so much for us with little or no effort on our part. Considering the kind of culture we live in, we can become a bit dulled to the true importance and weight of our promises.

“It's much better to say no in the first place than to leave a promise unfulfilled.”

The Bible presents several promises made by humans to each other and to God. But the most significant promise is the one made by God to man. God is faithful to His word, and we can always trust His promises to come through — because we can trust Him, the Promisor.

When the Church Comes Home

Rediscovering the Faith, Fellowship, and Mission of the Early Christians

What happens when Christian fellowship becomes part of everyday life? Drawing on Scripture and his pastoral experience serving a diverse community in Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Gyimah explores how ordinary homes can become places of prayer, learning, hospitality, and service, through four simple commitments: Open Your Heart, Open Your Bible, Open Your Hands, and Open Your Life to God.

“You do not need a pulpit to offer Christian hospitality. You can begin with an open heart—and an open door.”
