Rediscovering the Faith, Fellowship, and Mission of the Early Christians
“You do not need a pulpit to offer Christian hospitality. You can begin with an open heart—and an open door.”
Paperback & Kindle · Writers Rack Publishing · 226 pages
What happens when Christian fellowship becomes part of everyday life?
In When the Church Comes Home, Kwesi Gyimah invites readers to rediscover the faith, fellowship, and mission that flourished in the homes of the early Christians—and to consider what that example offers the church today.
Drawing on Scripture and his pastoral experience serving a diverse community in Columbus, Ohio, Gyimah explores how ordinary homes can become places of prayer, learning, hospitality, and service. His practical Four Open Doors framework offers a way to begin: Open Your Heart through fellowship, Open Your Bible through learning, Open Your Hands through outreach, and Open Your Life to God through worship.
Whether your congregation gathers on Saturday or Sunday, this book will help you nurture relationships, welcome neighbors, and share the gospel in ways that speak to the people around you. Reflection questions, prayers, and practical steps guide individuals, families, and congregations toward meaningful action.
You do not need a pulpit to offer Christian hospitality. You can begin with an open heart—and an open door.
Four ways your home and your life can become instruments of God’s mission.
Open Your Heart · Fellowship
Christian community begins when we make room for other people in our lives. We learn to listen, encourage, support, and care for one another.
Open Your Bible · Learning
God’s Word becomes central to our conversations and our spiritual growth. We study Scripture together, ask questions, and seek to apply biblical truth to everyday decisions.
Open Your Hands · Outreach
Our fellowship reaches beyond those already gathered. We become attentive to the needs of our neighbors and look for practical ways to show Christ’s love.
Open Your Life to God · Worship
Worship becomes more than an event on our weekly calendar. It becomes the expression of a life surrendered to God.
Gather Together. Grow Together. Go Together.
Sixteen chapters in four parts.
Every chapter closes with Look Back, Look Around, and Open Your Door: Scripture to read, questions to discuss, a practical step for the week, and a prayer.
